How do you manage to combine eleven individual health insurance companies on one website?

The AOK community: eleven regional health insurance companies, each with their own benefits and services, but only one website. Despite the necessary individuality, how do you manage to bundle all needs on a platform that at the same time generates SEO reach and offers high performance?

Our solution: a domain and localization concept.
All major portals found a new home under the main domain aok.de without migration or server relocation and now benefit together from SEO visibility. We created a localization concept for regionality: statically pre-rendered pages for high performance were linked to dynamically fed content, which in turn is populated from outsourced microservices. To do this, we operate the CMS with a self-created content API and a lightning-fast React frontend.

The result is impressive: after the relaunch there was no drop in SEO visibility and a significant improvement in organic visibility. Fast-loading pages and tidy navigation ensure satisfied insured people – and those who want to become one.

When it comes to technical implementation, we rely on innovations such as TYPO3 as a headless CMS and the static site generator Gatsby in order to achieve the highest possible performance.
